Last spring, after receiving so many requests for sparkly beads, we decided to create our sparkliest package yet and we are so excited to announce that this package, our fancy bracelet package, is a huge hit!  We are very proud to say that our little beaders are loving it and it has become our most requested package.

One of our favourite parts of doing what we do is seeing the expressions of absolute delight when the guests at our parties see what they are making, and see all the beads and charms that they get to work with. 

Our little beaders (and their moms!) love the wide selection of charms, such as unicorn, fairy, ballet, hearts, snowflakes and even sport themed charms.  We made this package with a girl's hockey theme and they were so excited to have beautiful sparkly bracelet with a cool hockey charm.

Our biggest reward is seeing the joy that our service brings.  If you or your little crafter have a party theme in mind, let us know and we can order charms in to match your party theme.

We have noticed that many moms booking Beading Buds jewellery making birthday parties often go with a tea party theme.  One of our favourite tea party themes is a Fancy Nancy tea party, because you can go so over the top with this theme.

Invite
Make the invite as fancy as possible using stickers, sticker gems, ribbons and glitter.  There are many websites with Fancy Nancy printables.  The official Fancy Nancy website also has lots of printables for you to use at the party as part of the party entertainment.

Party Decor
Fancy Nancy is all about being fabulous!  So this is your chance for a super girly and fancy party.  Decorate the chairs and tables with pink feather boas, tiaras, big floppy hats, fancy sunglasses and pearl necklaces (this can also double as a party loot bag). 

Hang up big bunches of gold, silver, black and pink balloons and streamers.

Cake
Do a pink cake or cupcake and decorate with pink feather boas, tiaras, big floppy hats, fancy sunglasses and pearl necklaces or any combination of these items.

Party Activities
Go to the Fancy Nancy website to get lots of great printables for the guests to use.  You can provide a box of dressup clothes and have the girls do a fashion show.  This is a great chance for you to get some great photos of the girls.  A Beading Buds jewelry making kit is also a great option, the girls can make beautiful fancy jewelry.

Birthday cakes are a huge part of any birthday party. 

When moms book a jewellery making birthday party with us, they usually ask us for cake suggestions. 

Over the years we have seen so many great cake ideas that we love to share and we love to see our ideas turned into stunning cakes when we arrive at the party.

One of our favourite cake ideas is a jewellery box birthday cake.  This cake is so easy to make, and can be as simple or as elaborate as you choose. 

All you do is to bake (or buy) two square cakes, and then lay one down, and place the other one behind it standing up.  Then decorate it with icing, and put on all of your accessories, such as candy necklaces, candy bracelets, ringpops, and candy to look like beads.

Another fun idea is to make cupcakes, frost them in a colour to match the theme of your party (such as blue and purple icing for a mermaid party). 

Place candy rings or real rings on top of each cupcake as a decoration. 

Children just love this and cupcakes are such an easy alternative to a cake, you can just hand them out without the hassle of cutting a cake.

After our last post, we had many requests asking how to make your own DIY tissue paper flowers/pompoms.  

We did some research, and here are the instructions to making the perfect tissue paper flowers/pompoms.

Instructions:

Step 1:  Take about 20 sheets of tissue paper and fold into an accordion.  At this point you trim both ends, depending how you cut, the tissue paper flower/pompom will have a different shape. 

Step 2:  Take a twist tie and tie in the center of the fan.  If you are hanging the finished product from the ceiling, at this point, add the string to the twist tie now.

Step 3:  Pull up each sheet one at a time towards the center, do 10 sheets to each side to make it into a round ball shape, or do all 2o sheets in one direction if you would prefer to have one side flat (this is better if you are hanging the finished product on the wall).

Step 4: Enjoy your beautiful decorations!

One of the most important parts of birthday party planning is deciding on the theme of the party, once you have established the theme, you can do so many extra touches to make your party extra special. 

For older girls doing a jewellery making birthday party, we suggest the theme of "jewellery making party".  We suggest that the children paint wooden jewelry boxes and make candy kabobs as a crafty and fun diy lootbag.  We suggest that the mother make a jewelry box birthday cake or cupcakes with real rings or ringpops placed on top as a decoration and include lots of candy jewelry.  For some amazing cake ideas, click here to check out our pinterest page.
